Bolder, Not Older

It seems fitting for my first post on my redesigned site to introduce the new tagline.

I came across this phrase while doing a Google search about why brands seem to ignore women over 40. (More on that in a future post.) It resonated with me right away and really sums up how I want to live my life. Aging is inevitable. That doesn’t mean you have to fade away or become invisible. It also doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, and style, and enjoy what you always did.

I like the idea of growing bolder as I age. (I also like the phrase “aging disgracefully”.), feeling more free to try new things and be who you are.

I’ve been a proud geek and a fan of retro style and that isn’t going to change. Neither is my love of bold colors and standing out in a crowd.

Getting older May have drawbacks but it also has a lot of positives. Now that I’m in my 40s and approaching 50, I know who I am and I’m not afraid to show it. I’m less worried about what other people think of me. I am what I am and I embrace it.

Don’t ever be afraid to be yourself, however quirky or different or unconventional that might be. Live joyfully. Live your truth. Live boldly.
